This course has been designed to walk you through some of the internet’s most popular social media platforms and help you to decide which social media platform/s will work for you.

Whether you’re just wanting to keep up with the times, catch up with family and friends, promote yourself to potential employers, check current design trends, show off your talents, or get your photos and ideas in order, there is a social media platform to meet your needs.

Navigating the world of social media may seem daunting right now, but this course is designed to help you to make a start.  It’s fun too!

We will:

• introduce you to some of the most popular platforms so that you can decide which are the most suitable for you.  You’ll learn briefly about: Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tiktok and Snapchat.
• help you to identify key safety and security tips for using social media.
• introduce some of the key terms so that you can “speak the language” of social media.

This course assumes that you have very little experience participating with social media but that you have access to, and can operate, a computer.  You will need access to a reliable computer or laptop with internet access, camera and microphone.
